During a routine shift, Li Xiaodong from Guangxi's Luchuan Wind Power Operation and Maintenance Project Department detected a malfunctioning #1SVG unit that triggered an automatic trip. He immediately alerted the duty supervisor. After reviewing the backend system, he confirmed the issue originated from Module 35 on Phase B, with the fault diagnosis indicating an IGBT component failure in the power module. Following on-site consultations with the manufacturer, the technical team provided the following solution.
Since the SVG uses water-cooled cooling, the coolant must be drained before replacement. After draining the coolant, the IGBT module was removed for inspection to confirm any faults. To completely prevent potential future failures of this module, it was decided to replace the entire unit.
Then, the cooling water was re-added, the site was cleaned up and the SVG was restarted. The equipment returned to normal operation.
